WHAT TO BRING
Premier Orthopaedics aims to provide you with the best care and this requires you to bring a few important items to your appointment with your treating specialist doctor.

Each specialist doctor has different requirements on what you should bring to your appointment.

There are several important items you are required to bring to your appointment:

Letter of Referral

This is a referral letter from a doctor who has seen you initially for your problem usually a general practitioner and who subsequently refers you to a specialist.

This referral letter is important for your first consultation. It enables you to claim benefits from Medicare and lasts for 12 months. A referral letter provided from another specialist that is treating you is only valid only for 3 months

Tests and Scans

If you have had any previous scans taken such as x-ray, ultrasound, or MRI please bring them to your first appointment. Some specialist doctors require all patients to have had a particular test done prior to their first appointment.

Workers Compensation Letter

Patients who have applied for a workers compensation injury and have had the claim accepted are able to make an appointment with a specialist doctor. Please bring the written letter of acceptance of liability with details of your employer and claim number to your first appointment.

Payment

  • Payment for your appointment is required on arrival on the day of your appointment
  • Please request the fees for your consultation when booking your appointment
  • Payment can be made by cash, eftpos, credit card and cheque
